Where Memories Begin...

If you have a campling story to share, please email it to info@campfest.net --- maybe we will include it on this page and make someone smile :)

SKUNK ENCOUNTER These campers took advantage of a skunk odor that was in the campground...
With a campsite across from the main bathroom, they purchased a stuffed skunk, tied a fishing line to it, and set it by the bathroom after dark.  When a few ladies that were walking to the bathroom got close they gave a light tug on the "skunk line".  The ladies stopped and started watching the skunk.  One of the ladies was standing on the line, so they tugged on the fishing line really hard.  The skunk came flying across the road right between the lady's legs.  She screamed and jumped a mile high!  She probably did not need to use the bathroom any more...

  "SISTERS" BREAD MIRACLE

While camping, two sisters left their last half loaf of bread on the picnic table over-nite.  When they went to retrieve the bread in the morning, NO BREAD...
One sister, quite upset, yelled out "Whichever one of you critters stole our bread could have left us at least one slice" and, no kidding, one slice fell from the sky and landed right on the picnic table.

LEARNING THE HARD WAY While on their very first camping trip, this couple learned how important it is to tie the awning down when it's windy.  Husband (after drinking too much) ran outside, apparently to rescue the awning, and started throwing up in the fire pit... NAKED!

"SERVICE DEPARTMENT" TRICKS Ingenious... During an 1100 mile trip their truck started on fire...  Using some common items they 1) put the fire out with SODA; 2) used DUCT TAPE to tape the wires; and when the truck would not start - 3) stuffed UNDERWEAR in the intake and made it to their destination!

WILD ANIMALS Several campers have met up with "wild animals" during their camping ventures... MANY skunk stories, raccoons, buffalo, deer, bees, wood peckers, and squirrels.  One family heard blood-curdling screams only to find terrified teenagers.  There was something HUGE in the bushes!  Oh my, it was a... baby opossum!
